when i go to play a game it says that direct x 9.0 isnt installed and then when i try to install that it says that its not a certified product of windows XP, what do i do? this is acually my friends card, its a geforce 5500fx 128mb (i know tis crap but its what he got) and i want to help him out cause hes giving me a monitor for free, if anyone can help me thanks- hippie

no, he has the cd with the drivers on it, he has super slow dial up so.... yea. but i think it must have something to do with his PC because i took a gfx card from my pc which worked and when he went to try it the card didnt work. so he put the card in and then installs the drivers, but when he goes to play a game it says something about no dierct x drivers installed, so when he tries to install the direct x it says this is not a product designed for windows xp or something, well i probably said more than i needed to but yea, thanks-hippie

I don't know if this will work, but it's something to check:

Right click on 'My Computer' --->Properties. Go to the hardware tab and click on the driver signing button. You'll have three choices, and if it's not set to 'Ignore' or 'Warn', that could be causing some problems because of some blocking, which might be done half-ass.

no it didnt work, when we tried to install direct x 9.0 it said "the software you are installing has not passed windows logo testing to verify it's compatability with windows xp(Why is windows logo testing important?)" so what do you think is wrong and what can i do to fix it? thanks -Hippie
