Have I a PC or a pile of bits.

Hi,
I have spent the last week or so making a list of all the bits I need to make a fast and reliable server or hosting oracle, oracle e-business and act as a web server for my own testing.

List of bits below

I am only 80% sure that when I put all the bits together it will work and wondered if any members might like to comment?

Cheers

Wow I think you might just have yourself a very nice set of compatible bits there. The board, cpu, and memory match up and that's the biggest wild card so I'd say start building.

Hi Exfoliate,

Thanks for the thumbs up, I suddenly realised that this was a lot of money to spend only to find I really am clueless, will let you know how it performs.

I wont be using it for gaming but was fed up with waiting for my pc to respond or rebooting when it decided to have a short break.
Now I am going to keep my old pc for a while just to shame it.

Cheers

You dont need a sound card AT ALL, if you will be building a server, onboard is fine and more then enough. I think you should get more ram but lower speed.
