HD is not found as boot device

ok sooo umm my power supply went. soo i went and got another one. but now after ive hooked up everything and tried to boot up. my HD cannot be found.
everytime i boot up i get the message


Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in Selected Boot device.


and when i bring up my bios

it asks to choose a boot device but it only gives me the option of a Removable Drive and a DVD Drive.
 
Check your HDD with another computer coz it seems to me that ur HDD is gone cookoo!

Edit: It could be cable problem but checkin your HDD in another computer will give you the answer.
 
either my slave drive or anything is being recognized i plugged another HDD that i have layibg around and that same message comes up

EDIT : but what if its my motherboard. or something else. i can replace the cables i have a number of them lying around unopened. the HDD powers up i can hear it but it just wont connect to the motherboard or the mother board just wont recognize it. the HDD is less then 2 months old.
 
Here is a trick, remove your DVD drive and put your HDD in place of that. If your computer recognize the HDD, it means wire is bad only.

What happened actually when your Power blows up?

my computer just shut down as i was using it and i could never get it back on. and nothing was getting anypower sooo i went and got a power supply. and only 1 of my disc drives is bring recognized soo im unsure of what it could be. but ill try to swap the dvd with the HDD
 
ok im back home, i just swapped out the connection from my dvd to my HDD and it loaded up no problems. ill be replacing the connector and hopefully that is alll.
