help with dvd player and dvd RW in winxp

hi,
I have a PIII 700 340MB RAM 2 HDD 5.1 Fireball win 98 os and 80GB Seagate having WinXP professional with dual booting DVD pioneer 105 as slave and pioneer DVD RW 107s as master. When I run win98 I can read DVD/CD in both DVD drives but when I run WinXP the !05 is not recongnized system hangs and drive keeps spinning on eject everything is normal and putting same disc in the 107 runs perfectly. Please help.

Have you tried un-installing then re-installing drive in XP?
Does this happen in safe mode aswell?
 
hi pelvis,
tried that out same problem no improvement. Maybe I should change the slave and master vice versa and try it out. any other suggestions?
