Hi storage device forum i need some help!
i think my hard drive has had a powersurge and i NEED the work from the hard drive to meet a work deadline, What can i do? Plz help me!

What are your system specs ?
When you start the computer, what does it do ?
What did you try to fix it ?
How did you realize it had failed ?

What I would do is use another drive to boot into windows, and use this one as a slave so you can look at it from there.

the specs are a 3200 64 bit amd, 1 gb of ram, 9800 all in wonder graphics card, dunno what hdd bt 200gb. when i start the computer it gets to the windows xp page blue bar then starts again. at the moment i havnt tried to fix it but got a m8 to help however i just wanted another opinion.

My first guess is that your hdd isn't damaged.

I think your problem is more towards Windows itself. A repair or a fresh install, which I recommend, should do the trick.

Taking the hdd into a known working system, and not booting from it, should help you get your files back.

This is great information that I will definately have to try as well. I hope that it not only helps me but the OP as well. Thank you
