Hey PC to reck going to experiment any ideas

Hey Guys have any of you had any expereinces with extreme cooling ie. sub zero, ivce got a computer that is prettymuch going to the bin and want to experiment on it, I thought of one thing that ive always wanted,

Submerged pc, I picked up an old fridge at a dump and have an old fish tank, I know that penut oil hardly conducts at all and will try this first I will post pics once i have bought the oil and got the fridge running again.

Any other Ideas
 
DON'T USE THE FISH TANK WITH OIL!!!!!!

oil is alot heaver than water, your fish tank will most likely brake under the pressure

The oil cooling trick has already been done unfortunately... feel free to try it, just make sure you don't submerge the hard disc as it will prevent the disc's from spinning (oil gets inside) and if you seal it the air cant move so the heads destroy/damage the platters beyond use.

running a pc 'submerged' in dry ice (frozen CO2) inside the fridge could be interesting... should be able to overclock that nicely.

but instead of destroying it, you could do something useful with it... such as set it up as your own server to host a website, or put a really big hard drive in it and use it to create a media library (music, movies etc) which you could share across the network to watch on other computers, or even just plug it into your TV!

what are the specs of the sacrifice?
 
That would make a perfectly good media machine.

If you're set on destroying it however, I've always been curious about cooling with a closed system of gases. They'd have to be non-flammable though and I don't remember enough chemistry to give thoughts on it. Several gases sustain temperatures well below room temp and have much higher specific heat than air.
Butane is an example, but not one you'd want to use.

that is a nice spec for a pc for just about anything (except seriosu gaming of course)... seems a bit of a shame that you want to destroy it! lol

you can most likely get a old unwanted pc for next to nothing that you could destroy... just a thought :)
 
Buy a mini cooler and mount the components inside, but cover the main board in something so that like condensation doesn’t dampen it.

And run the monitor cables through the door some how, that should be a dust free method of cooling your computer, imagine how cold the hs would get.

I love destruction wooo!
