IDE to USB cable/Power Supply

I have one of these devices and using it to connect a hard drive to my PC. A USB device is detected but the drive is not accessible.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
 
It may need to be formatted if it's new and/or assigned a drive letter. In XP, you can get to it by the following:

Start/Settings/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management.

If it's showing up there, you should be good to go.
