Don't fix it.
After doing a nice little swap with my dad, I got a brand new 60GB 7200RPM hard drive. Then I had to go screw around with my BIOS settings relating to the boot order and booting add-in cards. By the time I'd figured out what I'd done wrong, my original install of XP was kinda deleted. No data loss, but still annoying to do a reinstall of Windows that I could've avoided.
*sigh* Oh, well, a fresh install never killed me. At least I know my back ups are working well.
