Is an Antec 400w/450w PS better than those other 500w/550w PS's?

Just curious as to whether or not it is worth spending more money on a power supply that is less watts just because it is a big name?

well it all depends what your trying to power, if you have a system that takes say 400 watts then the artic one will be better as the quality is better but if you have a sytem that take 500 watts then the other power packs would be better. if a psu as a better name than the other the wattage it gives out is still the same only better made ones are more realible, better mad and cost more but for ordinary everyday use a cheaper one would be adiquate but thats really up to you the wattage of your system and how much your willing to spend! hope this helps Dave :good:

Yes always go for a good name in PSUs ....or you'll be sorry. Well not necessarily but its definately better to have a well known named one so you know its reliable.
