Keyboard problem

Hello I am Jazzy, I want to discuss a problem with you guyz. I have a Packard Bell Easynote book. And I have 3 little brothers as well, Who wont relax until I let them play games on my laptop. I had a external keyboard PS/2 but with a round port that comes with old keyboards, But I also have the jack that can connect that keyboard with the usb port. So I connected it with the laptop but It didn't even show a lil bit of a chance of Working with it , I mean literally It didn't even discovered the keyboard. But when I connect this keyboard with any other computer including the usb jack it works fine. So any guess how is it going to work.

YEH bro I've tried That and it works but what the hell is the problem with that old keyboard.
 
the keyboard might have compatibility issues when using an adaptor! I can only recommend trying another adaptor or alternatively using a USB only keyboard.
 
Agree with Sniper. Try another one if you can get one otherwise, it's time to replace that old keyboard with a USB, better yet get a wireless bluetooth keyboard if your laptop supports it.

Shouldn't require a driver unless its a high tech gaming keyboard w/ multiple functions etc., etc.... I agree w/ sniper and HH but would also make sure that the adapter is made for a keyboard and not a mouse. I've tried thinking it would work.....no luck. Also have you tried plugging the keyboard in and then booting the pc to see if it recognized. USB should be hot swappable but w/ an adapter in the mix you never know.
