liteon 32x12x40 acting strange

bet you're fedup with my q's now :) anyway, my new liteon seems to be acting strange not recognising my cds, but if i open the drawer, then close it again, it recognises them??? any help pls

don't worry, your questions help answer questions which other users might have, before they ask!

anyway, its a strange problem! have you tried waiting for a bit after you insert the CD for the first time, as my Plexwriter takes a few seconds before you can access the CD. Other wise you could try updating the firmware?
 
well its strange, because i insert the cd, double click on the cd drive and it shows a blank disk, you'd think that it would say device not ready or no disk in drive, thats when I have to open the drive door then close it again and it works fine.

Very strange indeed......
 
yeh xp pro, im a w2k user through and through and it took alot to prise me away from it, but, i like the multimedia capabilities of xp :)
 
try doing a windows update, you might find something there...
I find this very strange! :confused: let us know if you find out what is causing it...or it might just be a hardware fault! :blah:
 
If your burners still under warranty I'd get it checked out, just had a friend who's 40x burner started dong the same thing and the laser was going in the unit.
 
i've only had it for 2 weeks....well I did, sold it to a m8 and treated myself to a 40x plexwriter this morning :D
