Im looking for a pretty good card that can handle new games at at least medium settings. My price range is between $75-100, if you know any good cards at that price range, please reply

thanks

First off we do need to know if your video card is AGP 8x format or PCI or PCI-expressx16, PCI or AGPx4

second off assuming that you have the newest, PCI-Expressx16
(Do not consider if you are unsure if you have a PCI-expressx16 find out first, or the video card will not work in it at all)
i think this deal is quite a steal

eVGA Geforce 6800XT 256-P2-N381-TX Video Card - Retail at Newegg.com

its a 6800XT, 80$ after 40$ mail in rebate, and my guess is that it outperforms a 6600GT but underperforms a 6800GT, i think its something you're looking for

as i always suggest wait for other feedback from HF, someone may come up with something better, but heres my 2 cents, cheers

The GeForce 6600/6600GT or Radeon X700/X700Pro are you're best bets, although the 6800's are getting around the $130 online, and that would certainly be worth the move. Having said that, with a decent CPU and 512MB-1GB of RAM, you can play stuff like Doom 3 with pretty good detail. I can't say you'll do quite as well with FEAR or Oblivion, but I do know that Doom 3-based games will run nicely with the 6600 or X700.

hi sorry for not putting this up earlier, this is probably gonna be my mobo for my computer

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
2gb Corsair Ram
MSI Motherboard with PCI EXPRESS, PCI EXPRESS X16
Hitachi 80gb Harddrive
Samsung DVD/CD burner

the reason i dont want to spend that much is because i just want to get a pretty good video card that isn't going to cost me much until DirectX10 comes out

thanks, and i am considering the 6800XT alot

I run a 6600GT myself, and I can run Quake 4 with pretty good detail at 1024x768.
