Low Profile

I am looking at video cards. What is the difference between a regular card and a low profile card. Do i need to buy anything separately?

I was referred to a Visiontek Radeon X1550 Video Card - 256MB DDR2, PCI, DVI, VGA, HDTV, Low Profile, Video Card.

I think that low profile cards are either smaller, and/or use less power than normal cards, therefore also run cooler.
