Hello,

I have a PC with a "MS 7168 ver 1B" mainboard and a single-core CPU. (socket 939)
Is it possible to change the CPU with a dual-core CPU?
It's possible with the "ver 2.0" buth i dont see anything about the "ver 1B".

Thanks and sorry for my "broken English

Most probably you can. Very few (any?) Socket 939 boards don't support dual core processors.

No, that's Socket AM2 and requires DDR2 memory. Socket 939 processors and motherboards support only DDR"1".

The MSI 7168 Motherboard Supports the following CPU's
AMD Serpron
Athlon X2
Athlon 64
Athlon 64 FX
Memory is 4 gigs max,, DDR 184 pin 333/400 ..

But there's a different between the "ver 1B" and the "ver 2.0" i think.
Where did you find this info?

Thanks
