Monitor making popping noise?

I have a 7 year old Sony Triniton 17" monitor. When I am playing F.E.A.R. or other games, it is making this very noticable popping/static noise. When not playing games, it makes the same noise, but it is not as loud and it is less frequent. Has anyone ever seen this before? Any ideas. I guess my monitor could be going out right?

If your moniter has the deguass function under one of the menus in your moniter than try that if that does not work it sounds to me like its time for a new moniter m8, hope it helps Dave :cool:
