Multisession a data dvd possible ?

Whilst I am familiar with multisession of a CD-R, knowing that one must not close disc, only session, and that some burning progs have a better interface than others for letting you know whats already on the disc before you start to add data, some only let you know after you have added and you find out you have overdone it !!!
Is it possible to multisession a dvd ?

I have many CD-R discs and wish to save spacve and burn them a few at a time to dvd. I also like to have a dvd for a certain subject matter so again adding to the dvd when more of that subject matter needs storing is a need.

Are there certain progs that can and others that cant or are all progs capable ?

I use Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD v7 and also have Nero Express OEM, and Ulead burn now 2.0 demo. I have a Plextor PX 708A and an LG 4163B all dvd type burner reader.

Can one use DVD-R or must it be DVD-RW, or + types etc ?

Yes you can create a multisession dvd using Nero Burning ROM so far i've tried -R & +R DVDS and had no problems

Thats good to know, wonder if my Nero Express bundled with the LG will do it then, or must I buy the full monty ?

Now heres a thought, I like UDF writing to CD (when it works !), just drag and drop like a floppy disc, can that be used with a dvd ?
