Have you checked for a BIOS upgrade on the m/board?. I've also made a post on an ECS forum to see if anyone comes up with anything. I'll let you know SETEO
Yea I have upgraded my bios to the lastest version Whats the site of that forum you are talking about ? Thx RZA
I posted it on amdmb.com under ECS forum. Sorry mate, I didn't read earlier that you had already upgraded your BIOS.
This is verry strange I've tried to install it again but no succes but I now have my monitor connectet to my pci videocard and I've left the Gf 2 in its agp slot. Windows now regonize the card as a geforce 2 MX400 so thats allright. But at device manager its says it has this problem: Windows will atempt to restart without checking your hardware. Also when i contect my monitor with my agp card the screen is blck but when i rec onnect it with my pci one its still is black. Then when i put my agp one out and strat my pc and turn it off after a few secs, put my agp one in it, turn it on (so with my pci and agp in it, monitor connectet to my pci) my pci works like normal and windows sees the agp to but with that problem i above said Anyone now know any idea's ? Thx RZA
I also see the Gf2 at problem devies in system information nof win me also a via standard tech cpu to pci bridge at problem devices Gf2 has error code 10(wich means that i hafta update the drivers ,got to latest drivers ) and the Via has error code 22(wich means that its disabled ?? i ddn't disable anything)
Installed the latest Via 4-in-1's? Did you try removing the PCI card and setting the Int Display first to AGP?
You said that the MX400 worked in a different board, right? If so, it appears you may have to get a new mobo, at least exchange yours for a new one that works.
sorry for my late response but in was away a few days no i haven't tried it on a other mobo didn't got the change and the mobo is just new what can there be wrong ?
Dont know if I am on the right track, but is there an issue between the compatibility between the two pieces of hardware? I would check to make sure!
The AGP slot could be bad, and thus hose any AGP card. If you can, see about borrowing a buddy's AGP card and see if it works in yours. From the info I've seen so far, I'm saying the mobo is bad.
I am quite sure there is no conflict between the board and vga card, I run a GF MX200 64mb on a K7VZA motherboard with no problems at all and I'm quite sure that the MX200 and MX400 use exactly the same drivers. In the posts you don't state which operating system you are running, let us know and this may give us something else to go on.
The OS doesn't have a thing to do with it at this point. The problem occurs when he is starting up the machine, before the OS begins to load. Stated in his original post. As for drivers, you can technically use the same driver for the TNT2-GF3Ti500.
I think Pinki was refering to what RZA said in a previous post that he managed to get into Windows when using a PCI video card, but it showed the AGP video card up as having an error.....actually that post he refered to is a touch confusing. RAZ were you saying that you had a PCI and AGP graphics card in your system at the same time when you managed to get into Windows?....or am I being thick?....
Yea SETEO i could get in windows with my pci and agp card in it, my monitor was connected to the pci one. Windows says i6t has this problem: Windows will atempt to restart without checking your hardware Atleast thats what device manager told me. And Pinki I have now win me but gonna install win 2k pro later but that hasen't anything to do with my vidoecard now working like what Big B said
RZA, looks like we're running out of idea's here mate. Did you you take it back to the place you bought it from and have it replaced?.
