My Old PC

Hey,

I recently acquired a pc... here are the specs;

485Mhz processor
125Mb RAM
8MB graphics card
floppy drive, CDRW, modem, sound card

It's currently running XP, with no updates cause it seems to be a pirate version.

Any ideas on whether this pc can actually do ANYTHING useful for me? :x:

or shall i just cannibalise it?

EDIT: It's also in a humungous metallic case that takes up 10% of my room :P

Cannibalize. Definitely. I'd take all the parts, line em' up... and :sniper: them all to bits bro!

I think the best thing you can do with that PC is play minesweeper; Pinball might lag on you :x:

haha yeah! i don't know what whoever was thinking when they put XP on it!!
It's hard drive is only 6GB!

I'm glad you said cannibalise :D more fun

You can still surf the net with it and maybe if it's strong enough you can do your homework or wotever on office lol.

no, i can't :P

i cannabalised it!

after nabbing the floppy and CDRW i'm just wondering what to do with the bits that are of no use to anyone anymore!

perhaps you could use the cpu chip as a key chain????? :chk:

I agree, That machine should of never had XP on it, BUT- that PC would of run real good with a small distro of LINUX on it, like DSL Linux or Puppy Linux...

I have no idea about other OS's apart from windows (shame on me).
it could still run just without a CDRW or floppy, but i suppose it would be a bit hard to clear the HDD or install a new OS without a D:\ drive.

And besides my current budget for doing anything this month is £0.00. :(
