OK, I think I have it narrowed down between these two video cards. I don't know enough (just enough to be dangerous!) about each of their specific performance to make a solid educated decision.
Micro Center - Nvidia Quadro FX 1800 PCIE Workstation Graphics Card
and
Newegg.com - BFG Tech BFGEGTX2852048OCE GeForce GTX 285 2GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
I am going to do some CAD stuff, But mostly adobe illustrator, photoshop, fireworks, and premier pro work on it. So I guess my question is will the quadro fx handle light CAD programs annndd illustrator rendering well. and almost oppositely I am concerned that the gtx285 will not handle the CAD well. And of course there may be the small possibility that I would like to relax by shoot the everliving crap out of something on WoW.... ORRR for the $400 price range I am trying to stay in, is there something better??? My MB does not support pcie2x16 sli. It only has one slot for that. Ohhhhh, and it is possible I could upgrade from my 20in dvi lcd monitor to a 23 or 24in. hdmi lcd monitor.. Maybe, we'll see....
Any help or opinions would be super appreciated!
Thanks
Paul
