Ndiswrapper and PCI wireless card problems

Well, Im back guys I purchased a new wireless PCI card so i could get a better connection. I wasn't really looking for one, but saw one on sale at CompUSA for 25 bucks and had the linux penguin on the box. :) (+2 cool points)

Moving on I went through all the ndiswrapper installation steps and configured the card linux recognizes it, but no connection. Im running on Suse 10.1 and have tried restarting after config and modprobe. Im not sure what the problem is can anyone fill me in?

Btw-Its a Zyxel Zyair G-302 v3 Pci card and works great under window$ and almost never loses its connection so far.And I am using ndiswrapper 1.27 and the drivers from the zyxel site not the cd also on the cd and in the downloaded drivers there is what seems to be linux drivers im not sure how to use them tho.

I looked on the site and even downloading the drivers from the site, but I dont see any drivers for linux. You said that using Ndiswrapper, it recognizes your card, right? There are not any errors about no hardware that matches it? And does the card seem to be up and running as the only network interface? Like there is eth0 and eth1 are not both connecting to the internet..

*edit* Here's the site I was looking at and dowloaded the driver from.
 
yea that one should have it to i found it under:

G-302 v3_CD_Contents/Driver
( the folder name was Linux_26x-8185v1.0.0 )
in that folder it has release notes and it says Wireless lan Linux for
RTL8185- relase date 2005-02-18 Operating system release 2.4.18 Release driver version 1.0

But in the actual folder it has makedrv, readme, rtl818x.tar.gz, stack.tar.gz, wlan0hcp, wlan0down, wlan0up, wpa_supplicant-0.3.8.tar.gz, and wpa1.conf files.

Do you have a folder like that in your downloaded drivers?
 
No, I didn't... I just had something like Win2k, Winxp, Win98, WimMe or something like that. I've been google'ing the problem for a while and can't find much useful information. I've never had that much luck with Wlan's in Linux as it is, but I will keep giving it a shot and get back to you.
 
I have neither card... which makes it that much harder... Oh well, hopefully we can figure something out. And if YOU happen to find something before I do, please let us know how you accomplished your task.
 
KenshinX, can you post what you have currently done in a list please? What file have you downloaded etc in a nice list so we can see what's going on and find a solution. I managed to get ndiswrapper working with my card.
 
Well, for starters.
1. I did much research on the subject, I searched google for Suse and linux forums.
( And learned from, previous mistakes during my attempt with the U.S robotics 5422 usb adapter under ndiswrapper)

2. Since I read that it was not good to use driver included on the cd I went to Zyxel's site and downloaded the drivers (full cd version)

3. Next I downloaded Ndiswrapper 2.6 stable

4. I loaded these files on my USB lexar secure 2 thumb drive.

5. Printed out the guide to installing and configuring ndiswrapper under SuSe from:NDISWRAPPER Setup Information (SuSE 10.x, 32-bit)
(32-bit guide) And i printed out the ndiswrapper installation guide on their site.

6. I restarted my computer and logged in under my Suse 10.1 partition.

7. Went through each step in the guide with accuracy up until I got to the part where you test the connection and I never get a connection just the server not found type message under FireFox.

8. Tried ndiswrapper -m, modprobe, and wlan0 No results.
The card is recognized and the drivers are reported as installed with no errors

9. I tried rebooting, but no positive results.
