Need some help here.

Hi guys, i got this problem wiht my new system:

M/B Intel D965LT + Pentium 3.2ghz HT(641) + 2x1gb OCZ PC5400 Gold edition
very light load just a S-ata HDD and a dvd-burner

Here is the problem, when i tried power up the pc nothing happens so i started pull off all the components to isolate the problem. PSU is working fine i tested in another pc jus fine, also put another PSU in my PC same problem..

i pull the 2x12v power cord and the pc start work, but no leds on nor video output, put the cord back tried to boot again and no work at all, nor even the fans.

Looks to me like a faulty mobo but i want a second opinion. Any tips?

Is your mother board making contact with your case, or are you using spacers? If its touching the metal on the case, it could be shorting out.
 
umm, i don´t think so, i took the board outside the case and tried again, and nothing, same results.

Hi Big B, i tried with an Orion mdel HP400D and the 2nd psu was a Allied mdel 8360btx, any way my supplier offer me to change the mobo, they will make a deeper test, he also think is defective. must wait another 2 weeks to have board here, things here are slow. By the way what do you think about a ASUS
P5K mobo? i can buy one of these in quebec. is p5k a good board?

The reviews seem to give it high marks. Outside of being a little pricey, Asus is generally a safe bet. Bear in mind that you're not going to see a real jump in performance from the P965 board, and there will be an additional cost given the P5K has just come out.

Allied isn't that great of a brand to start with, and the +12V rail is only 15A, which might be too little, given the power-hungry nature of the later Pentium 4's and Pentium D's. The HEC Orion unit should've been enough, however, and HEC isn't terrible. Not the best either, but certainly better than Allied in build quality.
 
Thank´s Big B, take note about your tip. i will keep the Orion PSU until i can buy better one in Canada, is very difficult find good computer parts here.
