I installed an ECS motherboard and brand new Intel P4 processor with a brand new antec case w/350w power supply, and I have a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro installed in the AGP slot of the mobo.
For some wierd reason when I connect the 4 pin auxiliary power connector in, the computer refuses to even power on. However when I take it out the computer powers on yes, but nothing happens at all. Meaning, my monitor is blank and is getting no signal ( I have an onboard graphics chip too but connecting to that doesn't work either. ) and it doesn't look like anything is working very well because the keyboard keeps flashing its 3 keys over and over.
Can anyone help?
EDIT:// I just realised that it is NOT possible in any way to connect my power supply's auxiliary power connector into the motherboard auxiliary power connector. The arched pins and the square pins are arranged in an order that facing upwards it is the same arrangement but when you turn it down and plug it in, it reverses and thus does not match the motherboard. A point to be noted is that when I connect it so that the pins are correctly matched but are flipped on their side power comes on but only for a second or two. Then the power leaves.
