Your spec is sound, and should be fine for web development. I guess the most powerful software you're going to use is dreamweaver or fireworks and that system would run those applcation withoiut a hiccup.

I would prefer to just use the onboard lan to hardjack the desktop machine into the router though. So could do without the wireless PCI card.

reasoning is down to nostalgia about wifi connections beeping waves through the air, and the fact that wireless connections do not have wake on lan, or as fast connectivity as patch45 cables.
