Not starting after AGP change

Hi,

I tried to upgrade my old workstation with a new AGP graphics card, a PowerColor Radeon HD4670 1GB.

After installing it in the AGP slot, the computer wont start. Even after removing the new graphics card, the computer wont start. The LED on the mobo lights up when attaching the power cord, although it lights up quite slowly, fading over a long time to its full strength. But when trying to switch the power on, nothing happens. No fans, no beeps, nothing.

Any ideas on this one? Most likely the mobo or the power supply? Would appreciate any help.

My computer spec: ASUS PCH-DL, Dual Xeon 2400.

I would first take out the new card, then unplug the power cord and pull out the BIOS battery. Then hold down the computers start button for 20 seconds or so letting the system board discharge and also resetting the BIOS. Reinstall the BIOS battery and then try booting it again, but without the new AGP card to see if it works. My first guess would be the powersupply cannot provide enough power to your system with the new AGP card installed. What kind of powersupply do you have and what is its wattage?

Already bought a new power supply though, after testing with an existing at the office. Now I'm up and running again!

Not sure if the old power supply was to weak, or just old (six years). Glad my problem is solved anyway.
