One Windows license for several computers...

I'm not going to any other "direct dedicated" forums about Windows operating systems, because I love and trust this place very much and I'm sure, that I will find help here and the answers I need.

My question is about Windows OS.

I wonder, if I can buy a licensed Windows Vista (for example) and install it not only on one computer, but on others too. Will it be legal? Will my copies of Windows Vista still be as licensed?

If yes - that would be awesome, because I wouldn't spend too much money to buy OS for each computer. I really need to know that.

No you can't - each license of Windows is for one install only - you can use the same disc but you'd need to purchase separate licenses for each of the other computers you want to install it on.
 
Well, other OS's aren't bad, it's just I'm hopelessly addicted to Windows like to my cigarettes, LOL... well, maybe not so hopelessly... :)

Edit: maybe not so hopelessly to cigarretes, LOL...

Hehe, yeah, it's hard to wean yourself off of MS (and cigarettes too). But it can be done, and should be done, since both MS and smoking are bad for you. :D
 
LOL... :D, superb said! Maybe the only problem is, that I love both... too bad all the games are for MS...

Edite: 5 out of 5 to MS and 3 out of 5 to smoking...
 
Why don't you dual boot and have the best of both worlds. A platform to play and a platform to learn for the future
 
Good idea... but I don't think, that any other OS right now deserves to learn it (even thought - I love learning new)... istead I was thinking to have a dual boot of XP and Vista. :)
 
I don't see any other OS surpassing windows in the near future. As long as the Government uses windows, just about every busines, just about every institution, just about every home. :)

to answer the question, yes you can use one license for multiple copies, it is called volume license
