I have a document made in open office however, i was wondering if it will also work on office word, i will be printing the doc out on the computer with word on it.

Yes, you can save the document in a .doc format I believe.

You can export the document to MS Office format, or to a more open standard fromat such as PDF. Of course, OpenOffice's native XML format is the best of all, but sometimes one must compromise.

ODT is Open Document Text. That is an XML-formatted filetype similar to MS' proprietary XML format found in MS Office except that it's cleaner, simpler and most importantly it's open.

I was pleasently suprised at how solid Open Office is. It contains everything a home user could want in a word processing package. It is stable, feature packed and above all FREE!

Version 2 is a massive improvement over the previous version, and i'm impressed with the new 'base' database program.

This could spell the end for MS Office, especially programs like Works. I read that microsoft only just makes even with Works, and loses money on every copy of the Money program.

Microsoft is drawing up plans to release Works and Money as freeware apps, except they will be ad supported. The last thing I want to see is a banner in my word processing application, stating i should 'take out a loan with such and such', when i'm trying to write a letter to my dear old Gran! :D
