Opening ports

Hey, i have been trying for a while to open my ports.I have tryed everything. "Dmz, Port forward and uPnp.", but im not getting it to work.
I know how to do it, becouse i did it to a friend. But im not getting it to work on my my own router. Im using a D-link DIR-635.

I searched the router on the net and i saw that it had double SPI and nat, security.

Do anyone have suggestions about what i should do?
 
Hello, welcome to HWF. What you are trying to do is called "PAT (port address translation)" in more standard networking terminology, but D-Link calls it "port forwarding" in this case. In the product manual on page 31-32 you can find D-Link's directions on port forwarding. Once you've read those two pages thoroughly and gave it a shot, please post again if you still have trouble.

Hmm, good point. If your 'modem' is actually a router, you will need to bridge it and disable NAT in order for your port forwarding to work as prescribed. Double-NAT'ing causes all kinds of problems and should be avoided when possible.
 
At least some basic network knowledge is required for that.
Natter could maybe mention WHICH programs are not working? :rolleyes:
