A P4 motherboard can support ATA / 100, hard disk and signal lines also can support ATA / 100, and also installed the corresponding ATA / 100 drivers, but when system self-check, just show support ATA / 33

are you using a 40pin or 80pin IDE cable?

you need to be sure your using the 80 pin.
if this is not the case... tell us what your make/model of your motherboard and hard drive.

yes ,we do use 80 pin, and I' sure that I have right line position, it will be hard drive problem ？if it is , how to do

where did you see ata / 33 ? did you check the bios to see what ata it says there?
what os are yo running?
