Hi I have a laptop that I have not used in quite awhile and I can not remember the password. I have tried all the words I would normally have used, as I am the administrator is there anyway of getting into it without reformating using the cds that came with it as I really don't want to loose anything I have currently saved on there.

If it's windows xp and you didnt do anything to the default administrator account, you can try this - How to log on to your Windows XP-based computer if you forget your password or if your password expires

There are Windows Password recovery software. It will help you crack the password or maybe reset it, I am not sure I haven't tried it yet.

I bet it doesn't have Win98, but I'll post this anyway (you've probably already seen this, but well...)

You can remove the battery of the laptop for awhile and then place the battery again in the laptop try now try to login it might help or you can even try opening the PC in the safe mode and change the password from there if none of the used a work you will then have to opt for the password recovery software available in the market what i use is the stellar phoenix for this you can even try more
