Pc Powers Up No Display Though

I recently build a computer and the computer turns on fine however no display comes up.
Specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Video Card: ATI Radeon x1300
HD: 80GB Sata
Ram: 1gb PC 3200
Mobo: Intel Desktop Board D975XBX2
PSU: 600w

if you need anymore info please ask. ive been having this problem for a month now and i really just wanna use my comp if you have any ideas please list them. thx in advance
 
So, your saying the display worked before?
What about your POST beeps? Are you getting any sequences or just one short beep when you boot up you PC?

What type of monitor are you using?
 
Check if it's loading up into windows, because you might actually be stuck at POST. You can do this by observing the HDD light on the front bezel. If it flashes for about a minute or so then flickers a bit then stops, it's loaded into the windows logon screen. If you get no flashing then the HDD isn't being accessed.

If the HDD light does not do the above then we know we have a POST hang. In this instance, try the following -

Try removing all peripherals except power lead and monitor and see if that makes a difference. USB and PS/2 devices have been known to cause hang on POST.

Try disconnecting the HDD and seeing if you get a display. Sure it'll say it cannot find a boot device, but if you get a visual then you'll know which component is the culprit.

Did you make sure the four pin connector is plugged into your mobo from your PSU? First time I built a PC I wasn't aware of it since the first PC I butchered didn't require it.

lemme be a bit more specific sorry bout that the speaker gives no beeps at all the pc powers on fine the thing is that i just built it so there is no OS on it i changed the power supply,video card and ram. still nothing my monitor works fine on other computers so do the video cards and ram. i changed the battery as someone told me to try still nothing so any ideas? i heard it might be the screws im using?

If there is nothing installed, are you getting any boot messages? Can you go into the BIOS settings? Have you tried to load an OS installation disk?
The beeps I am talking about are generated by the mobo "speaker" (if you can call it that), not your external speakers. It's a really good idea to have one of them as that is a good way for your system to relay information to you while POSTing.

I might be wrong but you've not mentioned that you've tried the above yet. Please do, it'll narrow a lot of things down.

The PC's I fix all hang on the manufacturers logo (If they hang at all that is) which appears BEFORE it POSTs. Your screen is blank, and since you built the PC yourself it's unlikely to have a manufacturers logo, it's logical to assume if this is not a GPU problem, then your mobo is hanging before it POSTs.

Therefore I reccommend you try my ideas above, two of which may reveal your problem.

I saw from your first message that you have an ATI graphics card from the X1000 series. Did you connect the power supply to the graphics card?
 
Try Bare Bones Method............This will ensure that ur mobo is not touching the case n all.......
Pull out your mobo from the Case....
Jst leave
Processor
1xRAM Stick
1xHDD
Video Card(if u dnt have onboard otherwise remove that too..)
Using flat face screw driver, short pins to start your PC...!
 
NeloForster i tried what you said still doesnt work i also tried the barebones method still nothing so i am going to take it to a mechanic today see what happens thx a lot for your replies and help
 
I can't believe people missed this!

You have Core 2 Duo, I noticed you have PC3200 (DDR400) RAM - your board requires DDR2 RAM. Minimum DDR2 - 533 to run.

Is it actually PC2 3200 (DDR2) or PC 3200 (DDR)?

If it's DDR then it's totally incompatible, which would explain your problem.
