Hi friends, i have a pbm with my monitor... when i am working in my PC, suddently the screen shrinks to thin white line for few minutes...afterwards it comes back to normal position.... what will be the problem monitor or something???

Pls...help with ur answers.....

This could boil down to three things:

1. The lcd cable assembly is loose.
2. The inverter card may need to be reseated
3. The lcd itself has a thin line crack and needs to be replaced

Hi,

Try reseating your video card on the system board. Also do the same with the video cable just in case something has come loose. If that doesnt fix, then I would try a different monitor. If the problem persists, then I would try a different video cable, and then a different video card last. If the problem goes away when you change monitors, then it is a problem with the monitor itself or possibly a setting in windows for your display. I would findout what display settings and refresh rate your monitor is rated for. Its possible that the refresh rate is set too high in the display settings on your computer. To see what it is currently set to, right click the desktop, choose properties, then click the settings tab. On the settings window, click the advanced button and choose the monitor tab. This is where you can see what your monitor's refresh rate is set too and also lets you change it. If it is set really high, try setting it down to the lowest, which I think is 60hz and see if that makes a difference. Check to see what your monitor can support for resolution and refresh rate, then test a few different ones to see if any of them work without the problem occurring.
