Hello, I recently bought CPU as an upgrade to my current one, and after installing new one into my mother board I've got only black screen. m3a32-mvp deluxe that's my mother board and new CPU is AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE 3.4GHz AM3, which should be compatible with this motherboard if it has updated bios which my have.

My question is what am I doing wrong is it mother board issue or there's something else.

thatnks

Are they the both the same socket ? Can you give more info on your motherboard ??? m3a32-mvp What ??? Who makes it ?

It's asus mother board
Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe (2 PCI, 4 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Gigabit LAN, IEEE-1394)

it's AM2/ AM2+

it should be compatible with am3 with latetest bios

Yea, It says it is compatible, So it should work... It must be something else that is not right.. Check the fan, and make sure the cpu is in right, and seated right.
Next check your ram..

it is working properly with my previous cpu though, it just ain't run the new one
2 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (5-5-5-18 @ 400 MHz) (4-4-4-13 @ 270 MHz)
that is my ram it is in dual
DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2 Black Edition, 2800 MHz (14 x 200) 5400+
that is the cpu i use right now and it is working properly

AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE 3.4GHz AM3 requires an am3/am3+ socket motherboard.
Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe (awesome motherboard at that time) is an am2/am2+ type motherboard. I believe that it's not compatible with your new CPU, if it does support it, which asus website doesn't specify that it supports am3/am3+ CPUs it might require a bios update to support am3 CPUs. But in most likelihood the motherboard really doesn't support am3 CPUs.

Well depending on the model of your Phenom, you need an updated BIOS. Are you on the latest BIOS? Did you insert the CPU correctly? What's your PSU?
