question about norton system works 2005 live update

After I do a live update with norton it downloads the updates fine but when it starts to install my updates it gets half way and locks up. I would have to do CTL ALT DEL to make the program close. Does anybody know what could be wrong. Please help if you can. Thank You
 
Try a different AV. Norton was bought by Symmantec corporation some time back. Since then, their products are more about marketing then real performance.

^^ Agree with the above ^^

My personal favourites are Avast! Antivirus and Adaware SE Personal. That should be all you need. Oh, and a bit of common sense too :D

If you are really worried about security, ask yourself one question. "Why am I running with an account that has Adminstrative privileges"?
