havent heard much about these cores from ati, but have you heard rumors?
apparently there going to have 32 pipelines, is this like possible, i would of thought they would make on with 28 pipelines before 32, and are these cores going to include GDDR4 memory.

is there much information on them at this moment in time?

Sure, here is a rumour:

Even though ATI has not yet confirmed the specs of its R520/Fudo and has been successful in silencing everyone in the know with a variety of legally binding documents, the R600 specs appear to have been leaked.

It's a funny business this graphics war; it appears that staying in the headlines is extremely important when your rival releases their product and ATI is trying to steal as much thunder as it can without sacrificing its, apparently very hush-hush, R520 specs. What better way to face-up to your enemies specs than mentioning yours for a product that is over one year away.

According to recent news, originating in Canada, spread on a few hardware forums the new ATI R600 chip will be released around November/December 2006. The full specs include a stunning 64 shader pipelines, GDDR4 memory and will be built on 65 nm. The full specs leaked are as follows:

Sounds like a sweet card. That should really push nVidia, which will inevitably make better cards with the heated competition.
The GDDR4 claim is looking a little iffy but otherwise I think it can be done. It was rumored that the 7800GTX Ultra would have 32Pipes as well.

Well, the card isn't going to be out for a year anyway, so atleast they have that long to tweak the memory properly
P.S - The X900 series is supposed to be coming out soon!

Nope!
It's just ATi's way of filling the gap between the two series, just like the way nVidia borught out the FX5950 after they realised the FX5900 was a flop!

any idea on what the specs are goign to be like, sounds like the x900 series might not be as good as the x800xt pe's and x850xt pe's, seems simaler to the 6200's, cards like the ge force fx 5900's were better than the 6200's so seems like x900 is going to be like a 6600gt :\

that would make it better than the x1800 series, the x900 is practically an x800xt though.

If those rumors are correct those would be much better than the X1800's, at least the Pro though XT PE ones. 32 pipes is just crazy. Though I've read that the Xbox gpu has 48 pipelines. Though the numbering system is different, counting vertex shaders or something as well, I can't quite remember. I try and look for that article.
