Reloaded XP on a PC, SP3 won't install

I'm getting an "internal error" "SP3 setup cannot continue" when trying to update to SP3 via the Windows Update tool. Looked on google, but didn't find anything too specific.
 
My bad, didn't know that was relavent since I had this installed on there before, anyhow...

1.25GB DDR RAM
P4 @ 2.4GHz
Gigabyte 8IPE1000 Pro Rev 1.0
Seagate 120GB IDE HDD
nVidia Personal Cinema (MX 440 Video Card)
Memorex DVD/DVDRW/CDRW Drive
