i was thinking of using my current PSU, an old 520 watt corsair, in build from someone and then upgrading my PSU. but i'm wondering if that's wise. my graphics card went dead on me at one point. and this PSU survived a Belkin back up UPS that started shooting sparks everywhere (the new one has been fine for a few years now thankfully). if not, i was hoping to find something silent and of equally high quality as this SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151088 although i can't seem to for anything less than 5 or 6 hundred watts. all they really need is 400 max.
well if your corsair has been working after the sparks then its probably okay. however, i would just get the person your building for a new one just to be on the fair side. here's one on ebay that is cheap: $35 free shipping http://cgi.ebay.com/Thermaltake-W01...-/120740238651?pt=PCA_UPS&hash=item1c1cadd53b
