yes. The gun, the bullet are also traveling with the train at 100mph. The projectory would be going 100MPH faster than it's original speed that was also with the train.

Damn this one is annoying, AT looks like you're onto a good riddle here (plus I don't google things, defeats the object of the 'game' really...
 
is it a rope? I know it doesnt really fit with the stregnth thing but I cant think of anything else.
