Hi,
my main HD is a ata 36.7GB WD on SATA (OS XP PRO)but i lost some files (long story ) and i need to recover them.i then decided to boot my 250GB running on IDE HDO .problem is when i boot the 250GB i cant XP doesnt see or recognise the 36.7GB on SATA but wehen i boot the 36.7GB it see's the 250GB IDE hard drive.
i tried to re-scan in disk manager when booting the 250GB and also changed the SATA socket over on the mobo but no joy.if i cant get the 250GB to see the 36.7GB SATA drive then the recovery progams dont see the 36.7GB ata drive so meaning i cant recover the lost/formatted files.i did have a jumper on the 36.7GB drive so i took it off but still the same.
so question is how do i get the 250GB IDE HD to see the 36.7GB ata drive runnig on SATA in my computer ? is there something in the bios i shouls be ticking.? im also pretty sure in the bios and i chack it doesnt show the 36.7GB hd at all.
i run a abit NF7-S mobo .the files are really important ones and were lost when i had to use a ghost image i made with norton but the files werent on the disk.
