Hi i want to put a new SATA drive in my pc my mobo manual says is supports SATA and it has " SATA headers" which look like a connection point , :confused: am i right in thinking i can just get one and plug it straight in ?? does it use the same power cables ?? i'm a bit new to all this i'm afraid!!!

Depends on the SATA drive. If you buy the bare drive (also, "OEM") you may need to pick up a SATA cable and SATA power adapter. If you buy the retail version, you'll have the cabling necessary.
You will need to have this to properly power the SATA hard drive. Even if you just get the SATA hard drive, you can pick the adapter up pretty cheap.
However, you'll find that many motherboards do have the SATA power adapter. Any more, SATA hard drives use a SATA power connection. Unless your power supply is SATA ready, then you'll need to make sure you have the SATA hard drive power adapter.
