Shutdowns while gaming

Hello everybody

I have a problem with my computer shutting down every time i try to run a full screen application that requires a lot of resources. I have to say that i think that i found the problem, i just want to be sure before i spend any money on repairs :)

I discovered it when i was playing l4d the other day and my computer just turned off without any reason. This happened several times when i tried to run other games.

I thought that it was due to overheating, but then i stumbled upon a CPUID HWmonitor which showed this:

Notice the 12v giving 1.15v. Also i am very sorry for the ugly screenshot.

I am not that good with computer hardware but i am pretty confident that i found a problem and buying a new PSU would solve it.

Please tell me if i am completely wrong here or not.

Hi Friend,
Have you loaded anything new on your PC, like drivers or windows updates ?? Try a system restore ??

No, I did not. But it doesn`t matter now as i bought a new PSU and the problem is gone now
Forgot to report in this thread though. The funny thing is, i still see something around 1.5v on 12v. I dont know what that means, but it has been working without problems so far.
 
Typically, the readings given through software monitoring aren't known for accuracy because the data they get isn't straight off the power supply. It looks nice, but if you need to check, using a multimeter will fare much better in this endeavor.
 
Actually , even though how good your pc you brought but if you dont care of them like what you doing. System cant survive. Dont just be confident that you choice a nice one. Maybe the power supply on that case will be affected time will come that your computer will keep on loading cant even load to there window.
 
It is very common problem that SPU is not strong enough to handle maxing you equipment.
