Sigmatel High Definition Audio Codec

I have a Qosmio G20-155 Laptop which I recently updated with windows 7. Though Toshiba says that my laptop is not compatible with windows 7 I was able to get all the hardwares work except for the sigmatel audio high definition codec. I tried so many forums and at last was able to make the properties window for that device say that the device is working properly. But the speaker icon in the notification area has a big red cross near it and I am not able to play any audio. Please help me. Thanx in advance
 
Maybe the version of the codec that you have been trying to get working is not compatible with windows 7. Try finding the proper version if that is the issue.
 
Take a crack at this. Its for XP so it might now work. If 7 is blocking the installation, get into the file's Properties and select "Windows XP" Compatibility mode.
