Can I first start by saying what I know about computers you could get on the back of a postage stamp, so if anyone can help, can they give me a click by click account of what I need to do to put things right.

The problem is, I went to sign in on my yahoo e-mail account and when signing my name I meant to press the shift key and whilst it was held down press the - (dash key) so it would come out as an underscore, unfortunaley I must have pressed a wrong key and now every time I go to sign my user name the font is so small it's hard for me to see it.

Can anyone advise me on what I need to do in order to make the font size lager.

The font size on the rest of the web pages seem to be unafected.

Im guessing you use Internet Explorer? I dont have Internet Explorer so I cant tell you precisely what to do but hopefully I can tell you enough!

File, Edit, View, History etc at the top of your screen....
Choose View and somewhere under that menu it will say "zoom" or "font" or something similar. Just change that "zoom" or "font" to the default size.... or at least a size you are happy with.

I think the hotkey is ctrl and +. You have probably pressed ctrl instead of shift and then pressed the - button which will decrease the font size.
 
As daft as that, your right I must have pressed the control key instead of the shift key.

I'm already wearing vary focals, I was begining to think I needed bionic eyeballs to see with.

God how I wish I'd been brought up on computers.
 
Being brought up with the things must help tons but if you throw enough time at them you kind of realise that they aren't all that confusing at all. I didnt touch a PC until 2000 when I bought my first one. We had about a dozen at school but there wasnt any internet so they were just bulky typewriters which we could only use at lunchtime.

Most people start using computers with Microsoft Office or some other big, hard to use program. Its like jumping into a Ferrari for your driving lessons. The steering wheel, clutch, brakes and throttle barely scratch the surface!
Im sure some from Hardware Forums will agree that the best way to learn computers would be to (under supervision!) build one and then install windows and then to install the programs you use.

yep, & i started with the attitude ¨if in doubt, give it a clout¨, thankfully i´ve learnt the hard way, that is not always the best approach
