Hey guys, it's been a long time since I've posted. I started university last September, and everythings been changing. I try and come here every now and again but I just can't feel compelled to answer banal questions like I used to do happily.
Guess everything changes over time.
Which leads onto my actual point, does anyone from the 2002 onwards era (Big B, Anti-Trend and you guys) still know what the hell is going on in the technology world? I used to follow it closely and had decent knowledge to help people, but here I am 12:30 am thinking that I know absolutely nothing about the latest hardware.
Processor models numbers, GPUs everything. So the mentor now becomes the mentee (?) and needs a clue.
I'm basically looking for a new PC, my current laptop's a Sempron 1.8Ghz with 512mb RAM. Performance is no where near enough to really do useful stuff quickly. I need a powerful system that can handle games well. My current hardware is brought to its knees compiling a large codebase like Amarok.
Posted this here since it's related and unrelated at the same time. :)
