Somebody help please!

Hi there,

I'm a noob here and I could really use somebody's help with the following problem:

Computer was working fine yesterday and I turned it off properly, however this morning when I turned it on I was met with the following message:

'RV410 ATOMBIOS TSOP MEMORY'

None of the rest of the bios messages etc came up. This is the only thing that appears on screen and nothing I input has any effect. I have opened up and had a look inside and nothing seems damaged/disconnected and all looks the same as when I built it. The motherboard is an asrock 775vm800, the CPU is a 3.0 GHz Pentium IV Prescott - 800 and a gig of ddr ram (two 512 modules), none of which is overclocked.

I haven't changed or installed anything new recently, so I have no idea what caused this or how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated so I know whether to fix it or replace it.

The video is a card, ati, the power cable seems fine, the connections not loose and the psu is only a few months old (650W which should me more than enough for my rig).

Thanks for the reponse I will see if I can borrow another graphics card/psu and test them on my computer to see if that has an effect.

you may not need to, try reseating the grfx card first[ot]remove & reinsert, and also try the latest drivers[/ot]
 
Hi thanks for the post,

Have reseated the graphics card but the same message still comes up, I even used a diffrent power connetor from the psu as it has 2, but no luck, I can't attempt to update the drivers as I can't get to the bios settings let alone windows, i'm still working on testing another graphics card but won't have it till later.

Hi again,

Have swapped over my graphics card with a friends spare and low and behold the dammed machine started up normally so it appears my graphics card has died :doh: . Thanks guys for the help/putting up with my n00bishness! Just so you know the power unit is sweex 650 watt gold power supply yes not the worlds best know supplier and yes it really is gold (sad I know) but its served me well.

I would suggest before making any decision on your Graphics Card..first try it on some other computer as well just to make sure that its a Graphics Card Problem.
Yea never heard about that Power Supply. Do u knw the specs of it? I mean how much power on each rail n all??

Yeah its not a brand I heard off but like I said so far has been doing well, the only specs I could dig up off hand were
