There are no stupid questions here at HWF ;) Welcome.
The majority of monitors floating around the market have at least a DVI connection and most likely have an HDMI cable as well. The connection you use will not affect the quality of your games, besides resolution which is relative to your monitors specs. Your graphics card, memory, and cpu are the main factors when considering game quality and performance. Now if you're talking about movie quality, then this depends on the connection you use, the resolution your graphics card supports, and if your monitor is full HD. So these are the 3 things you need to look out for.
So far, you're all set on the graphics card as it shows support for a max resolution of 2560 x 1600, way above full HD resolutions (1920 x 1200). Now you'll need to be sure to get a monitor that supports a resolution of (1920 x 1200) or just look for one that states it is full HD (1080p). Finally, you'll need to make sure you use either an HDMI or DVI cable, and not a VGA cable as it cannot carry out HD resolutions. Both HDMI and DVI can.
