Sound Problems

HELP !!!
My sound card malfunctioned so I diverted the sound through the USB.
It worked alright just that sometimes it makes some noise but the sound doesn't stop .

My cooling fan also developed a fault and was replaced by a new one and from that time
anytime the sound is playing it breaks for about 15 secs and doesnt play afterwards.

It only continues playing with MPC player... just that app alone.
Its either I log off or restart the PC before the sound plays again....

Please what could be the problem and the possible solution...??

First of all, Is this a desktop or a laptop ? A little more info would be nice.. What OS are you running ?When did this start ? how long has it been doing this ?

runnig on win 7 ultimate, started about 3 months ago , ​

previously , anytime I play fifa13 and the sound breaks , it minimizes the game to the task bar but now on fifa14 it doesnt minimize but only the sound breaks.....

Do you have your drivers updated? This obviously sounds like a software problem.
