I base my argument on an N300 Compaq laptop which my in-lawes have. It has a PIII 650 and 512MB. Even with performance settings set to 'Adjust for best performance' (i.e. turn off visual effects etc) it is still a bit sluggish and really is only good for light use (Internet, email and some office apps).
what about gnome2 it would also fly[/ot]BTW: thank you Saba, i need people like you to ensure i'm correct, and sorry Robin1k, and Saba please continue to correct me if i'm wrong, that's why i think forums are great, cos people CAN correct you if your wrongIf only I could convince them to use Linux with XFCE it could fly!!!
