Unwanted Boot Options

Hi, there everyone, thanks for reading this and I hope one of you can help me with my problem...

A couple of days ago I used a registry cleaning program to clean up my registry. I don't know what program it was but it was pretty easy to use and helped me along the way by giving advice at every step you take.

I fixed some errors, then went on to some menu where I could remove certain programs and the cleaning program told me that I could "safely" remove all items which had a "N/A" description, where all the others would have a Manufacturer name or so. So I did, thinking I was on the good path.

A day later my gf turned on the computer and she asked me what she had to choose before she could use the computer?! (I was downstairs so I couldn't see) I was like; "Oh man, what the **** did you do this time!?" as I came up to check on the pc, I found windows in a boot menu I hadn't seen before, one which asks me what hardwareprofile I want to use, the strange thing is, I never set up extra profiles.

I checked the Hardware Profiles dialog box and noticed there is only one, I messed around with some of the options but still It showed at startup. Then I cheched HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles in the registry and found 3 keys there, 0000, 0001 and Current. I backed up my registry, removed the numeric ones and rebooted, still it showed.

The only way I can get it to stay away is when I choose the "normal startup" procedure in the Microsoft System Configuration Utility, because I always have a "selective startup" for keeping unwanted programs from loading at startup (I tried this and afterwards went into my BIOS on the next reboot, after this the menu didn;t show up, so I don't know I this resolved the issue. Al I know is when I thought I resolved it, I changed the startup again (in confidence that it kept away) and I got the darn menu again!!

Can anyone help me with this..

I tried that before, it didn't work. Strange thing is, that I just rebooted the computer and there was no boot screen! I hope it stays away this time, otherwise you'll be hearing from me again...
