Videoing speaker performance.

Hi, i dident put this in speaker section coz it aint really a problem.

Anyway, i look on youtube, i see this video fo a Logitech Z5450 pounding away, then i see a vid of my Z5500 maxxxxed out, on it appars as the Z5450 is louder, but the thing is, i dont see how it can be louder, sure the z5450 is dual chamber, but it still does not ass up, the Z5500, has a 10" driver, the Z5450 has a 6.5" driver, smaller enclosure and less wattage rating than a z5500m i know wattage dont mean anything, but the thing is, the port on the z5500 is bigger too, so, the z5500 has the abaility to move more air due to its larger cone area and larger enclosure, so why the z5450 sound louder? is it the type of camera they use, i mean i dont think videoing it is a good way to measure performance, someone once said, you cant judge performance by recording speakers, as your z5500 could sound as loud as a 1milllion watt system with abseloute loads of drivers, but is it as loud? no, so why the z5450 sound louder? is it the position the person is in and were abouts the microphone is? as people have compared these 2 systems and found the z5500 to be alot louder, yet it seems the z5450 is louder when comparing it with videos on youtube? is this ebcause microphones are crap or something?
 
You can't base the performance on a video, as the microphones recording on the cameras will be different, you need to stop worrying "This other thing might be slightly better than mine" because if you always do that you'll never be happy.

The Z5500 is a great system (voted the best high-end system in CustomPC magazine) so be happy with what you have :)
 
yea but i cant help thinking i could of saved money and got the Z5400 and gotten more pure bass performance out of it lol.

The z5500 is apparently able to do 25hz to 30hz @ 120db, but it seems like the z5400 must be able to do like 130db!
 
Compared specs with the Z5450 and the Z5500, yea, the Z5500 has 200 more watts allthought its not even really 500w as hardly any all in one systems and pc systems are really the wattage they say, but with all the specs, the Z5500 should be better.

Some people seem to notice that the Z5500 shakes allot more than the Z5450, but to do this, this means it needs to be pushing out more air, which would = to more sound, but the things in the house must be absorbing the extra sound so it doesent seem louder, i compared my parents sony HT system down stairs, whcih has an "80w rms" 8" driver, which is in a smaller enclosure than my z5500, and to be it sounds about on par with the Z5500, but when i took it down, and place the z5500 anywere in the room, when the Sony is at full, stuff shake of course, but when i turn my z5500 on in the same room, put it to half volume, stuff is shaking badly, walls are flexing, i go into the kitchen, all the cupboards are shaking, and the window shakes so crazy you would think it would fall out, and thats something the sony cant do, and people say the z5450 doesent really shake stuff up more, but sounds as loud :s.
 
I use headphones instead, quite high fidelity and good performance in mid range with my Sennheisers.

You need to stop worrying, you're room isn't optimised. It's probably nullifying the extra money you spent :P.
 
Lol, i aint that bothered really, i mean i turn this system up and its so loud i can hear it down the road at the village hall, and the subwoofer is powerfull enoough to keep up, so really i should be worrying about it, i am preety much a bass adict lol, i like lots of bass, i have like 20 bass testers, i am sav ing up for a real HT sub now, can do 20Hz @ 100db, cant hear it, but i bet the feeling would be good with everything shaking :D, i dont want a car sub anymore, i dont like listning to just one note.
I dont think the z5400/5450 could beat mine actually, i tested a 30hz tone on it, and i think it can indeed get to 120db which a 6.5" driver just cant do, when i tried this tone, it was wierd, everything was submirged in sound, and the windows downstairs were going crazy, then i got in trouble wit me parents :(

Dont like headphones, theye uncompfotable and i dont think i would like listning to movies with them too :p
