Wan't to experiment with overclocking.

I have recently built a nice gaming rig on a budget. Just running an i3 with 16GB ram and a SSD.

To keep the build in my budget, should I buy an unlocked I3 to play with or save the money and go with a i5? The i3 has been more than enough so far, so I can't really justify buying the unlocked i5 unless it is going to be a ton faster.
 
The Overclocking of a CPU is done from the Motherboard and Not the Processor.. You will need the Right Motherboard to do ANY Overclocking..
 
With the exception of the upcoming 20th anniversary Pentium, the only Intel chips that come multiplier unlocked are the K designated ones. Example: 4770K is unlocked, 4770 locked. You might be able to gain a little overclocking the baseclock (BCLK), but you'll only hit 105MHz if you're lucky.
